Entelect Are Proud Silver Sponsors of the GirlCode 2023 Hackathon
Entelect has long been a partner and sponsor of GirlCode – a South African NPO aimed at empowering young girls and women through coding.
This year, we have come on board as the Silver Sponsor for the annual GirlCode Hackathon, taking place from 5-6 August 2023.
Now in its 10th year, the hackathon takes place in August to celebrate Women’s Month and is the largest all-female hackathon in South Africa. As a multi-city event, there will be hackathons in Cape Town, Joburg and Durban.
The hackathon is not a competition but a collaborative learning experience where budding female developers walk away with new knowledge to help them continue exploring the ICT space. The primary goal of this event is to raise awareness of female technical talent and foster a competitive yet cooperative and compatible culture for talented female techies.
As a Silver Sponsor, Entelect has financially contributed to the success of the much-anticipated event, as well as sponsored prizes and giveaways.
Historically, team members at Entelect have helped to structure the GirlCode teaching curriculum, hosted vac work students and some members have also acted as mentors – a tradition that will be continued this year.
